About the Role

As part of the Nationwide Initiative of Healthy Families NZ, the Māori Systems Lead will leverage their expertise in Te Ao Māori me ōna tikanga to work across various Māori systems to prevent chronic disease among whānau Māori in South Auckland.

Your role will involve collaborating with Māori communities, Mana Whenua, Iwi, Hapū, and stakeholders to foster a holistic community approach, driving long-term systemic changes that enhance the health and wellbeing of whānau and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee two key portfolios.
  • Get creative with design challenges and write engaging case studies and reports.
  • Convene community groups and facilitate thought leadership discussions.
  • Engage with Māori communities to connect and drive impactful collective efforts

About You - Kōrero Mōu

  • You’re someone who’s got a deep love and understanding of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga, and you’re a whiz with Mātauranga Māori concepts.
  • You’re all about co-designing solutions to tricky problems with others, knowing that sustainable, community-led solutions are key to tackling health and wellbeing challenges.
  • Your experience allows you to confidently navigate local Māori systems and structures, identifying and acting on opportunities for scale and impact.
