We aim to make health and wellbeing services easy to access, culturally supportive and based in the community, for the community.
Why it exists
Sometimes it can be hard to get an appointment with your family doctor.
People are often balancing:
- Family commitments
- Long wait times
- Transport challenges
- Cost
Our Place – Māngere helps remove some of these barriers by providing free health checks and support in your community.
Keeping up with your health checks is important, especially if you have diabetes or it runs in your family.
Getting checked early can prevent more serious health problems later.
Working alongside your family doctor
Our Place – Māngere works alongside local family doctors and supports your usual care.
We provide services such as screening, immunisations, vaccinations and health checks.
This helps family doctors focus on more complex or urgent care.
With your consent, we can share a summary of your visit with your family doctor, so they stay informed about your care.
It is important to continue seeing your regular doctor and keep them up to date with your health.
Easy access for the communit
Our Place – Māngere is designed to make it easier for people to access health services.
- Walk-ins welcome
- No referral needed
- Open to everyone
