OUR VALUE STATEMENT
OUR STAR COMPASS
The star compass was used by our Polynesian forebearers to chart a direction of travel. Wayfinders used the stars to navigate their way to new lands and to new opportunities. The stars, sun and moon coupled with the patterns of the oceans they traversed provided a way to locate one’s current position, maintain a sense of distance covered and to ascertain the journey ahead.

Indigeneity
We want indigenous knowledge to be recognised legitimately as prevention systems that can strengthen the wellbeing of families and whole communities. We recognise the indigenous people of Aotearoa and the ancestral ties that bind us together as people of Polynesia. We celebrate our similarities while recognising our own unique diverse cultures, languages, and traditions which have existed for generations.
The symbol of the ocean and stars represents our indigenous knowledge systems and the early navigators who found their way to new lands and to new opportunities. The symbol recognises traditional knowledge, customs, and practices and makes meaningful connections to one’s heritage and identity.

-
People
We want Pacific peoples across Aotearoa, our South Auckland and underserved communities to be confident to help themselves, and to also help other to achieve their aspirations.
This symbol represents sacred relationships and connectedness to others through the embrace of a parent and child. It reminds us of the needs of the individual person and their family, while considering the gains to be made for ‘the whole’ as a population focused organisation.

Place
We want all whānau to benefit and thrive from the social, economic, and environmental uplift of South Auckland now and in the years to come.
The Mana Moana/Mana Whenua symbol is a flowing koru intertwined above and below and represents the land and the sky – our connection to place, our environment, and the place where we belong. We recognise the spiritual and ancestral connections to mana whenua and the korowai of the Kingitanga in the places and spaces we work in.

Experience
We want the true level of unmet demand, the preferences, and the opinions of Pacific peoples and South Auckland communities to inform policy development, system design, investment and service planning decisions.
The flower symbol is synonymous with the pride and strength of the Pacific, its people and their diverse cultures and identity. This symbol reminds us of the stories, the voice and the lived experiences of Pacific Peoples and the communities and stakeholders we serve, which may not always be visible or easily heard.
OUR GOALS
Where we are putting our focus. After considering where the gains are to be made for our communities, we have identified three focus areas across the organisation:
