Honesty, Respect, Compassion,
Courage and Service
Sandra Fifita-Lamb is a proud Samoan with her parents hailing from the villages of Papauta and Salelologa. Sandra grew up in Manurewa.
She comes to us from the Education Review Office (ERO) with twelve years of experience as a Review Officer in their Moana Pasifika team. Sandra’s work involved evaluating the quality of education in early childhood, primary and secondary schools.
Her background also includes twenty years teaching and leading in South Auckland primary schools. As well as being a mother and grandmother, Sandra leads children’s ministry and through her church supports a leadership and mentoring programme for local students.
What led you to working at The Cause Collective?
Everything that TCC stands for resonates with my ‘Why’ I have a passion for challenging the status quo for Pacific communities. In short, working at TCC was an intentional decision I made to achieve my purpose and live my values, in a community that I love. Best decision ever!
Who inspires you and why?
My parents, for coming to NZ as teenagers with little more than a strong work ethic and a commitment to building a better future for their families. Their sacrifice has enabled me, my siblings, our children and many of our extended family to enjoy privileges that were once only a dream for them. They instilled in me a strong sense of service, work ethic and faith that has grounded me well as a Samoan growing up in South Auckland at a time when we were a minority group.
I am also inspired by the many trailblazers who have paved the way for Pacific peoples today. It has been my privilege to have worked alongside many of our unsung heroes and to currently work in an organisation that is full of the role models of today who are continuing to build on the legacy of our Pacific pioneers.
What is your current role?
Quality Management Specialist. I work alongside all the teams to support internal management systems that help us meet our strategic goals.
What is your superpower?
I’m a people person. I have x-ray eyes that read people… just ask my kids, they’ll tell you that I know what you’re thinking, even before you do!
Who is your favourite superhero and why?
Jesus of course, because He taught us everything we need to know about anything. The older I get, the more I realise how much more I still have to learn. Life long learning from the original teacher keeps me coming back for more everyday.
