What is your current role?
I am a System Designer. I support all TCC’s wonderful initiatives by supporting their system change approach.
What led you to working at Healthy Families South Auckland?
I grew up with high aspirations of becoming a doctor because I thought I would help as many people as I could if I was in this role. As I was studying health science in tertiary I discovered the prevention system and its imperative role in the wider health system. This made perfect sense and direction for my career. I am blessed to work for The Cause Collective in Healthy Families because of its focus on addressing the root causes of the many problems our communities have.
What projects are you currently working on and what impact do they have on the community?
I am working across all projects but mainly supporting and focusing on tools for systems change.
What is your vision for health and wellbeing in South Auckland?
That South Auckland people create their own health and wellbeing and are not dictated negatively by the system.
Who inspires you and why?
Jesus and my ancestors – they were intuitive, intelligent and quick-witted people.
What is one funny/quirky/interesting thing that no-one knows about you?
I have a shy personality but when I hear a jam I love – my feet won’t stop moving!
Who is your favorite Superhero and why?
Black Panther because of what he stands for and the values he portrays.
What is your super power?
The ability to make people feel welcome and at ease.
